The Living Wall exhibition, YermilovTsentr, 2015

In autumn 2015 we received an unexpected offer from our friends to take part in the exhibition at the YermilovTsentr. It worth noting that Olena Ilnytska and I don’t position ourselves as artists, but recently we easy agree to the different activities which are beyond our profession. The exhibition "The Living Wall" seemed like a game on the other team’s field for us, but we decided to show ourselves as experienced players. To participate in the exhibition we chose an installation – the closest the architecture genre of modern art.

In our opinion, YermilovTsentr gallery has a complex multilevel space. The exhibition, in which we participated, was also quite diverse – from traditional painting and object design to video art. Usually, working with the object, we first try to define own mission. In this case, we wanted to combine the space and future exposition by focusing in its centre. That’s how the «algae trees» (that plugged the supports), and a shoal of fiery tadpoles (that flinched from time to time trying to get off the ground) appeared.

Perhaps because of our passion for numbering that is inherent to our profession, the installation was called "Four gray ones, seven red ones and a hole". Meanwhile, the shoal of tadpoles was given a second life. Gradually, they settled down in Hudpromloft, marking one of its halls as the red one.
