What it is?
Five-storey volume with a large body-deep housing. This is a default requirement for passive houses.
It’s splay in the area of the first and second floors to allow for the organization of large spaces. Partially buried ground floor has direct access to the premises of the second floor. Light wells and ventilation shafts designed to bring the building to building regulations. Underground parking – as the “field” for rooms of the second floor.
Partially buried second-floor volume forms a space of yard, with direct access to public buildings first and second floors.
How does it work?
In the first stage we are formed a yard – by means of stopping pavilions and rides bicycle parking block at the intersection of "green axis" and the streets leading from the city center. This is a basic public space not only for complex, but also the entire residential area. This local area flows into the smaller public spaces. Thanks to the openness and direct access areas of the first floor of the yard formed a chain consisting of public, buffer and closed spaces. The room of the second floor get direct access from houses and schools. The theme of “plastic” relief applies to the entire block as a means of optimizing the excavation.
Attentionand balanced (the issue of exploitation)
In this project we would like to consider the experience of the implementation of direct borrowing (excluding climatic characteristics). We don’t see the organization of green roofs on five-story volumes, because we are as seriously doubt in the possibility of rational life in this case (sad example of green roofs Warsaw University). Green roof and hidden blind area are expected only in direct access areas.
Priority of reflected light. The use of materials resistant to weather conditions on the upper floors as a means of reducing operating costs.
Geology of the city and the region.
The project is proposed to use a retaining wall Gabion (Carpathian stone). In public spaces proposed use a block of demolition old buildings – as carrier “of the genetic code of the city.” In gardening – priority local meadow grasses and abandonment of exotic trees which are relevant to the gardens of the “new wave”.
